Located in a Rosario Candela building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, this 4,000 square-foot renovation interprets classical detailing in an updated manner for a young family. Rooms are kept open, corridors widened and light maximized without losing the pre-war feeling important to the owners. A limestone slab and wood inlaid floor provides a unique entrance. Custom paneling and moldings throughout become a continuous design theme. A successful collaboration with the interior designer creates a balance between architecture, material choice and furnishings.
